The 2023 Global Cheese Awards
Exciting changes for the 2021 Awards
1 July 2021
Exciting changes here at the Global Cheese Awards. After looking closely at the market we feel there is an opportunity to showcase the wealth of artisan producers and will be pivoting the awards to make them more relevant to them. We will of course be continuing with the ever popular existing classes and encouraging those overseas entries that give our show its global twist. We will also be expanding our range of classes to better reflect the extraordinary diversity of artisanal cheese production. This will mean there is more opportunity for artisan producers to win an award. We feel by doing this we will be showing the visitors to the Saturday public show the full range of what’s on offer locally, nationally and abroad.
This year also rings the changes with a new Chairman. Chris Stilton, our former Chairman, has decided to step down and with us looking to have more of an artisan presence we felt there would be no one better than Marcus Fergusson from the very local Feltham’s Farm to lead the team through the transition.
This year’s Global Cheese Awards will take place at the West Woodlands showground NR Frome on Thursday 9th September with the public show on the following Saturday. Organising this year’s event has no doubt come with its challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic but we hope by September we will be in a positive place and what better way to celebrate that than with cheese! Both the awards and the show will of course be adhering to all national and local restrictions and Covid-19 safety measures as advised.
Please contact the team at the Show Office for more information on entering, attending, trading or sponsoring the event.
